Projects 2026

SGT. anthony park

Sgt. Anthony Park is a small but beloved community park in Jersey City, maintained entirely by neighborhood volunteers. This year's projects will include painting paw prints that lead to the dog park 🐾, fixing the raised bed frames in the community garden 🪴, repainting the park benches, and doing general gardening throughout the park.

We all meet at City Hall, and transportation for the whole team is provided to the Park and the after-party.

new city kids

This year's projects at New City Kids are bigger and more meaningful than ever! New City Kids is moving into a brand-new space this summer, and we're helping make it happen! We'll be building custom rolling storage, packing, painting, power washing, and doing light gardening. And for everyone who grew up obsessed with LEGOs, we've got a special treat: we're taking apart and reassembling a shed from scratch.

New City Kids is a Jersey City youth development organization with over 30 years of experience, providing after-school programs, music classes, college prep, and community care to the young people who need it most.

We meet together at City Hall, and transportation to New City Kids and the after-party is all provided for you.

SCHOOL GARDEN REFRESH

Get ready to get your hands dirty in the best way possible.

Dr. Lena Edwards Charter School, a beloved K-8 school right here in Jersey City, asked us to bring their outdoor classroom and garden back to life! We'll be tilling the soil, planting vegetables, and clearing weeds in the garden. We will also treat and restore their wooden benches so they're protected from the weather.

This is more than a garden. It's where kids learn, grow, and connect with nature, learn where food comes from, and make their school a place that’s beautiful and that they are proud of.

We meet together at City Hall, and transportation to the school garden and the after-party is provided.

VAN VORST PARK

Van Vorst Park is a beloved green space in the heart of Downtown Jersey City, maintained entirely by volunteers. This year's project will focus on repainting the garden railings and painting the benches throughout the park. This work helps preserve the beauty and charm of a community gathering place that everyone can enjoy.
